Elevate SEND pilot partnerships
Help us measure what changes.
Elevate SEND is seeking a small number of education partners to test and refine a new approach to measuring the impact of professional development.
The challenge
Development is delivered. Change is rarely evidenced.
Attendance, completion and engagement are recorded well. Whether knowledge, confidence and practice actually moved is much harder for leaders to answer — and that is the question that determines the next decision.
The approach
A pilot runs one complete cycle of the Elevate Accountability Loop with a cohort of your staff, and ends with organisation-level intelligence and a prioritised next action.
What a pilot involves
Four stages, one measurement cycle.
01
Baseline
Understand current knowledge, confidence and practice.
02
Develop
Deliver targeted professional development.
03
Measure
Assess what changed after the development.
04
Intelligence
Identify development priorities and next actions.
What a pilot partner receives
- Baseline insight across the participating cohort
- Professional development targeted at the measured need
- Post-intervention measurement using the same instrument
- Impact reporting at organisation level
- Recommendations for the next development priority
- The opportunity to shape the evolving methodology
What we need from a pilot partner
- A participating staff cohort
- Approximately 30–40 minutes per person, per measurement point
- Access to relevant context about current development activity
- A named contact to coordinate the cycle
- Structured feedback on the instrument and the reporting
- Participation in the reassessment, not only the baseline
Elevate SEND is being tested and refined with pilot partners. The methodology is designed to evidence change in professional knowledge, confidence and practice; it is not presented as validated, certified or proven.
Indicative timeline
Around twelve weeks, end to end.
Timings are indicative and agreed with each partner around the school calendar and the development being delivered.
Week 0
Introductory conversation, scope of the cohort and areas to measure.
Weeks 1–2
Baseline measurement completed by participating staff.
Weeks 2–3
Baseline intelligence shared with the organisation's named contact.
Weeks 3–8
Targeted professional development delivered by you, Elevate or a provider.
Weeks 9–10
Reassessment using the same instrument as the baseline.
Weeks 10–12
Impact reporting, recommendations and pilot review.
